Annette Finnegan

Alumni Program Manager

Annette Finnegan is the Alumni Program Manager at The Marcy Lab School, where she leads career readiness programming and specializes in talent development and strategy, supporting early-career software engineers as they transition into meaningful roles across the tech industry. A career counselor by training and a talent professional by experience, Annette designs and delivers programming that refines early-stage technical talent into work-ready professionals, equipping alumni with the technical, professional, and strategic tools needed to thrive in interviews and on the job. She manages employer relationships and volunteer engagement for alumni programs, including scheduling mock interviews, coordinating panels, co-creating site visits with employers, and creating industry partnerships that expand access to opportunity.

Annette began her career in the business world as a Strategy Consultant at Accenture, supporting clients around workforce planning. The lack of early-career support and skills-based training she observed across major companies, particularly for talent from non-traditional and underrepresented backgrounds, motivated her transition into education and workforce development. Before joining Marcy, she managed career programs at Columbia University’s Center for Career Education, building cross-industry partnerships that connected emerging talent to values-aligned career pathways. A Fulbright Scholar and Gates Millennium Scholar, Annette brings a global, equity-centered perspective to her work, shaped by her experiences living and working in France, Spain, and the US. Her studies and career have focused on the future of work, with a particular emphasis on designing systems to develop an equitable and adaptable workforce for tomorrow.

Raised in Southwest Florida in a Dominican immigrant family, Annette is a first-generation college graduate whose lived experience deeply informs her work. Much of her career has been driven by a commitment to empowering students from underrepresented backgrounds and supporting them in achieving ambitious educational and career outcomes. Deeply committed to social and economic mobility, she believes in the power of experiential learning, strong relationships, and intentional systems to expand access and opportunity.
